Learn About PhiDE
Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical Fraternity creates physicians of integrity with a lifelong commitment to our guiding principles of philanthropy, deity, and education through fellowship, service, mentoring, and formal training in leadership, science, and ethics.
In October of 1904, Aaron Brown and eight of his friends founded Phi Delta Epsilon at Cornell Unversity Medical College. At that time, there were many doors closed to Jewish medical students and physicians, doors which would not fully open until after World War II.

The PhiDE International Convention will support attendees in executing their medically related goals through educational programming and networking learning experiences that are both passive and active for all membership categories within our Fraternity.

Thank you for everyone who helped to make our International Convention in Miami, FL’s South Beach such a huge success!

Thursday’s reception on the Roof Top of the Gansevoort Hotel (now The Perry) introduced many of our participants to the perfect winter weather in south Florida and our many chapter delegates. Friday and Saturday’s educational programs brought outstanding speakers from the Associate of Applied Therapeutic Humor, Kaplan, and the PhiDE Foundation.

Chapter and Colony delegates visited Miami Children’s Hospital, our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital to tour the amazing facilities and complete several service projects for the Child Life Department.

Saturday night’s Reception and Banquet featured a special guest from Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH), Dr. Plato J. Alexander, Pediactric Cardiac Intensivist who spoke about the techniques used to help save children’s lives. Dr. Alexander also spoke about serving the community and what it means to be a great physician. PhiDE collected over 400 lbs of coloring books and supplies to donate to the MCH Child Life department and Cindee Starkie, CMN Hospitals National Director accepted these on the hospital’s behalf.
